As a protest to the SOPA and PIPA bills that are floating through Congress in the US right now, I will be going dark on here for Wednesday, 18 January 2012. I hope there will be a wave of awareness that the internet needs to remain free of government intervention and control. Read more...The new year started lamely. I would have thought better of it, since we went to see a friend of ours perform burlesque and then a couple others at a house party perform with their band. It was a lot of activity and a lot of fun swirling around, but I didn't catch any of it. Lame. I wanted to have the same emotional response to the new year of 2012 as everyone else seemed to be having - the last year in the Mayan calendar - the year where the earth crosses the galactic equator - the year of the Dragon in Chinese reckoning... All the signs, portents and cosmos are directing this coming year...
